Enjoying the little things

Every time I turn around I feel like so much has changed.  Life has so many unexpected twists and turns, but they send you down the river right where you belong.  I can hardly believe my little man is now 2! He changes Every. Single. Day. Right now he continues to amaze me with his knowledge and observation skills.
Lately Grayson has insisted on helping me cook.  He does really well being careful about heat, but he refuses to go play once he sees a pot on the stove.  He immediately pulls a chair up, pulls his spoon out and he is stirring it
A couple days ago I took out the trash.  When I pulled out the new bag G wanted it so I handed to him to see why he wanted it, he then shook it vigorously and proceeded to put it in the garbage can.   I was stunned that he obviously knew just what to do even if he didn't get the bag opened or attached in the can.
A couple more fun steps we have been taking on the getting so big train, Grayson now sits on the potty, he doesn't pee, but he sits there and he isn't scared.  Oh, and yes he is bribed with jelly beans, but the more comfortable he is the sooner it will all start.  :0)  Second, we are slowly attempting to sleep without a side on his crib.  It makes him nervous, he LOVES his crib, he is a great sleeper.  He has gone to sleep once now with side off, but got up a few times out of confusion/nervousness.  The side went back on about 4am, so mom could sleep better too.

He can say so many words, even if most people couldn't recognize most of them.  Grayson is very opinionated and stubborn.  I'm not really sure where he got that from.  He takes so much after Grandpa Bolton it is crazy.  Hopefully he is just as smart. He gets totally jealous if mom holds another baby, and he has no idea how to share, or how to handle sharing.  He is a bully to little kids, but big ones he leaves alone (even slightly bigger).  He is well acquainted with time out, and often won't leave when we say he can because he is still upset.

Today in the middle of this post he took me outside, he LOVES to chase Cooper, and Cooper loves to be chased.  Grayson just laughs and laughs, especially if mom is helping (Cooper gets more into it). Grayson was actually laughing so hard he would fall to his knees in hysterics.  I am so grateful it is warming up and we can play outside! No more snow for us please.
I love my little boy so much, words cannot express.  I hope that every mom feels this way about their kids (even through the hard days).  I can hardly wait until he is a big brother.
