Christmas!

Christmas! Christmas! Christmas!

You know not every year do I get super excited about Christmas. I think I will be more excited for the next few years though.
When Ryan and I first got married I was stoked! We even had a real Christmas tree (never again though, sap is too hard to remove)! Slowly over the years I "acquired" more and more Christmas decorations. I LOVED decorating, even if I didn't get to pick out what I had. Each year it got harder and harder to be excited, WHY?? Well for one Ryan never really cared if I decorated at all. The whole thing is silly to him (guess who did NOT grow up with a Christmas tree). Second, as each year passed and each year it was still just the two of us, I got more and more depressed. Making it harder and harder to care. Then last year came, and all I did was stick a wreath on the door and claimed it was because we just moved in, and would be in California for Christmas anyways. Okay, okay so maybe that was a valid reason, but still I had a case of the humbugs. Well guess what! I'm back and just as excited as ever. Yes it's just the two of us technically, but it's the last time! So I better make it special :0)

I did spend a tiny bit of money this year on decorations, I took what I had and made the best of it, and changed it with as little as possible! I have to say I am pleased with the festive feeling in my house!
I changed this tree from red and white to red and silver, but it is mostly just red, maybe next year I will invest in more silver, maybe... (yes it is crooked at the top, but I can't fix it, who knows maybe some other free tree will be acquired this year and replace it ha, yeah right)

So my dinning room table feels LOVELY

And my Candy Jar has found new purpose in life :0)

My "mantel" It's funny to me that now that I actually have a fireplace, and my mantel is 10" from the ceiling, sadly it is the only place I have to hang my stocking so ....

Upstairs I have this skinny tree, I made it just silver and white this year, I LOVE it. I would do more decorating up here, but darn it all that money thing. Pshh.

I love your tree and all the fun decorations! As for getting a new one, the day or 2 after Christmas, you can usually get a really great deal on one...I'm hoping that will be the case for us this year, because our tree is just sad!

You always do such a good job of decorating your home. We can't wait to see it. Is there anything you want from NZ? Maybe a NZ ornament for your tree?
